There was a long list of very serious complaints in the claim against First Choice in the High Court in London. There was complaints against inferior substandard accommodation, with issues such as no hot water for 14 days, faulty air conditioning, mould and mildew on the walls and ceilings of the rooms, the toilets overflowing with raw sewage, urine stained mattresses, and fleas in the bedding. In a sense one can expect some differences when you travel to the boarder of civilisation, but when rats, roaches, ants, scorpions and crabs are in bedrooms, or when the hotel stockpiles a large number of black bags which were filled with toilet waste and human excrement in a large wooden shed behind the kitchen, then you can ask yourself, what kind of vacation you actually paid for.
When the hotel maids who cleaned the toilet bowl with a cloth and then proceeded to wipe the drinking glasses with the same cloth, or the food you were served had been covered in flies, reheated, rehashed, not to mention the hotel beach littered in dog excrement and hypodermic needles, but when hotel staff that would rake the needles into a pile and then proceed to bury them in the sand, (www.holidaytravelwatch.org) then it is understandable the holidaymakers who went to the Caribbean island of San Andres were diagnosed from nine highly infectious diseases.
